After completing welding school, Oscar joined Hollywood Carts and Racks, one of the leading companies in the cart and rack manufacturing industry. What started as just another job quickly turned into the foundation for Set Carts.
In 2008, the writers’ strike severely impacted many businesses, including Hollywood Carts and Racks. This downturn provided a unique opportunity for Oscar and his brother Jose to start their own venture. They began working as contractors, welding and fabricating carts, and after several years of building expertise, the brothers were able to buy out the company and rebrand it as Set Carts Industry. The name change marked the beginning of a new era, and Set Carts quickly became known for its commitment to quality and innovation.
With years of experience and a passion for perfection, Set Carts developed a signature look that set it apart from the competition—an instantly recognizable, sleek blacked-out finish on all cart components. This distinctive design, combined with their dedication to craftsmanship, earned Set Carts a reputation for producing the highest quality carts in the industry.

Set Carts was also one of the pioneers in electric carts, revolutionizing the way equipment is transported on set. The company expanded its offerings beyond traditional carts for grips, craft services and lighting, creating innovative solutions for D.I.T.’s (Digital Imaging Technicians), props, and art departments.
